Hard Working Fourth Graders!

It has been a very busy week in our classroom!  I am so proud of the kids for working very hard on the MCAS Long Composition and the first session of the Reading Comprehension.  I am sure they were exhausted by the time they got home.  On Tuesday they will take the second session of the Reading Comprehension test.
Report cards also went home today.  Please keep the report cards and sign the report card envelope and return with your child on Monday.  You should have also received a notice about signing up for conferences yesterday in your child's Thursday folder.  Please sign up on the PTC Fast website for a spring conference time for your child.  If you didn't receive the notice, please let me know and I will send another one home with your child.
We ended our week with some of the kids sharing their Genius Hour projects.  Each Friday the kids work on a project around a topic that is of interest to them.  It is fun to see the creativity and motivation to learn with these projects!
Today Abbey taught us about Appaloosa horses and how they are measured.  Charles demonstrated 3 different types of fishing. Then,  Lily taught us all that she had learned about sea horses along with drawings as she taught us about this animal.
As an audience the kids really worked on looking at the speaker and saving questions and comments for the end.  We talked about asking questions that make sense and show that we have been listening to the presentation.
     Have a great weekend!
